Registered Counsellor and Administrator
COUNSELLING SKILLS (Non-negotiable )
- Excellent counselling skills
- Work with clients to develop goals.
- Educate clients about appropriate coping mechanisms
- Monitor client progress and modify their treatment plans as needed.
- Ability to have sessions in person and via Zoom
- Ability to do telephone and email counselling
- Experience in:
- Play-therapy
- Marriage counselling
- Emotional counselling e.g. grief, trauma & pastoral counselling
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to show empathy
- Excellent telephonic counselling skills
- Good Presentation skills on psychological topics, including creating PowerPoints
- Keep up to date with developments in psychological field, i.e. do continuing education courses
ADMINISTRATION SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge and ability to work on Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Creating forms for registrations (Excel) and evaluations (Google sheets) for workshops
- Experience in applying for CEU’s is beneficial
- Ability to plan and host workshops/events is beneficial
- General administration skills needed.
PERSONAL SKILLS
- Christian belief and church attendance
- High moral standard
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Be hard-working & pro-active
- Fast & accurate data entry skills
- Willing to learn and adapt
- Accountable and a heart to serve in the ministry
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years Counselling experience
- Studied psychology or social work
- Registered with the HPCSA/equivalent statutory board e.g. SACSSP
- Must be of strong Christian faith
- Strong Administration skills
- 2 professional references, 1 pastoral reference
