Position: Team Support Administrator Intern
Focus On the Family Africa is looking for a Team Support Administrator Intern to join the Family Advancement Department Team, which works to achieve the mission of enriching the lives of families, engaging the culture, advocating for life, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Job Responsibilities
- Intern will play a vital role in offering administrative assistance to the department, actively contributing to the realization of departmental goals that align with the broader objectives of the ministry.
- Conduct comprehensive office administration tasks, including filing, printing, scanning, counting, and packing.
- Contribute to resource assembly, gift wrapping, and assist customers in the resource centre.
- Engage with and serve constituents at Focus on the Family events and seminars.
- Deliver essential assistance to the distribution department by actively participating in the assembly, meticulous counting, and efficient packing of stock and resources.
- Assist in hosting guests and preparing gifts for the Church Relations Officer.
- Aid the Fundraising team by handling scanning, filing, and data capture tasks.
- Support the resource centre by participating in stocktake, serving customers, promoting products, and arranging and overseeing book tables.
- Contribute to face-to-face events, including setup, pack-up, resource sales, and overall team assistance.
- Occasionally assume a frontline role at the reception, with responsibilities including answering phones, taking messages, and serving visitors.
- Demonstrate flexibility by attending evening and weekend events when required, time off in lieu of will be granted.
- Tasked with supporting the planning, preparation, implementation, and reconciliation processes for book tables conducted at various markets, events, and churches.
- Working in the bookstore / serving customers on Saturdays from 8:00am to 14:30pm will be a requirement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) qualification and must not have participated in a Yes Youth Programme before.
- Must be 27 years old and below.
- A qualification in Sales, Marketing, Communication, or Administration along with professional experience will be added as an advantage.
- Exhibit confidence in telephone communication, demonstrating a proficient telephone manner.
- Demonstrate proficiency in communication and comprehensive administrative skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive mindset.
- Proficiency in computer skills is crucial, with a specific emphasis on advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, facilitating effective engagement with diverse community groups.
- The ideal candidate should possess confidence, engaging communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, keen attention to detail, and a natural ability to connect with people.
- Additionally, they must demonstrate teachability, adaptability, initiative, and a self-starting attitude. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
Conditions of Employment:
- Contract: Temporary (One Year Internship) March/April 2025 – Feb/March 2026.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Fridays, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Saturdays 8:00am – 14:30pm with a half-hour lunch break.
- Flexibility is required for occasional evening and weekend assignments.
